As the Founder and current CEO of Carve Bio, Shannon has provided fractional C-suite leadership and strategic business advisory services to high growth companies, inspiring teams to drive projects from early-stage research to successful INDs, into clinical trials, and with clear paths to commercialization and reimbursement.

Her expertise in crafting translational strategies, scientific datasets for regulators and investors, strategic pipelines, reimbursement plans, and establishing value propositions has enabled the companies she has served to secure over $500M in funding to advance therapeutics. Shannon has built and led teams from scratch up to 130 people, and she is known for strategically deciding between in-house functions and outsourcing to ensure seamless growth and operational efficiency.

Shannon's dedication to fostering innovation and strategic growth has made her a sought-after leader in the biotechnology sector. Her proven ability to demonstrate the value proposition of therapeutics through data, navigate complex regulatory landscapes, secure funding, and drive commercialization opportunities positions her as an invaluable asset to any company seeking to propel their progress.

Prior to Carve Bio, Shannon founded and built Humacyte from discovery through Phase 3 trials with a path to reimbursement, and built a robust pipeline. She then served as CSO at Cell Care Therapeutics, and currently also serves on the advisory boards of Strand Therapeutics, Hepatx, and Stanford University’s StartX Med accelerator.

Recognized as a top 100 Global Healthcare and Life Sciences Leader by PharmaVOICE in 2018, Shannon has demonstrated the highest levels of thought leadership in biotechnology – with 22 peer-reviewed publications, 38 patents, and 46 conference presentations. She has been featured in prominent media outlets such as The Economist, BBC Radio, WebMD, USA Today, LA Times, US News and World Report, and Scientific American. Her other accolades include the Breakthrough Award for Brilliant Innovators from Popular Mechanics in 2011.
